What is a pub bike?
It is the most fun you’ll ever have while pedaling. The bike seats up to 15 people of which 10 are pedaling. Add a little music, some conversation, a fun-loving bike captain and it’s a rocking good time.
What is a tuk tuk limo?
Not sure your up for pedaling or just want to sit back and enjoy the ride, then check out the tuk tuk limo. The tuk tuk bike seats up to 6 people and features a removable rain fly and heated seats for year round comfort. Your bike captain will keep the music flowin and the tuk tuk goin!
What is included?
Most of our tours are 3-hours with the exception of the farmers market tour which is 2 hours. Your tour includes an awesome captain, an ice chest with ice, bottled water, blue tooth capable sound system, and a fun tour of your favorite destinations.
How do I see the tour schedule?
The book now page on our website has the option for you to view the current week's tour schedule where you can click on "following days" or "previous days". However, the easiest option is to click on "pick date" for a calendar dropdown for show the tours available for your preferred day. Booking hints: Step 1 - Promotion code button: fill in promotion code (optional) Step 2 - Participants: pick the number of people for this booking Step 3 - Private event: check the box if you want to reserve the tour for a private party (minimum of 6 for the pub bike) Step 4 - Category: allows you to filter by pub bike or tuk tuk (optional) Step 5 - Tour: allows you to filter by tour name (optional) Step 6 - Date and time: click "pick date" for calendar dropdown The pub bike requires a minimum of 6 people to pedal for private and shared tours. If your group is the first to sign up for a tour that does not meet the minimum, your seat will be reserved until the minimum is reached. You will receive email confirmation once the tour meets the minimum.
What if I can’t pedal?
The pub bike needs a minimum of 6 people pedaling, but is equipped with 5 non-pedaling seats. For smaller non-pedaling groups, check out the tuk tuk limo. The Gear Belly tuk tuk seats 6 and there's no pedaling required! Please contact Gear Belly directly to schedule your reservation if you have special needs.
When should I arrive?
Arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour start time to review and sign the waiver. This will ensure your tour starts on time. A signed waiver will be required for everyone on the bike.
Do I need a reservation?
Yes, only reserved tours will be scheduled. The pub bike requires a 6-person minimum. If at the time of booking your group doesn't meet the minimum your seat will be reserved until the minimum is reached. You will receive an email confirming your reservation once the tour reaches its minimum. Your email confirmation will prompt you to complete the booking and submit payment.
Do I have to be 21 to ride the bike?
No, we love celebrating with you and your family! Younger children that cannot reach the pedals on the pub bike will need to sit in your lap. Younger children are also invited to cruise in the tuk tuk, but a seat must be reserved for them (no lap sitting). We also offer a variety of tours to appeal to several age groups: kids birthdays, graduations, etc. Please contact us to organize your special event.
Is alcohol permitted on the bike?
Drinking alcohol on the bikes is not currently permitted due to city ordinance. Instead, plan on enjoying your beverages at each destination. We encourage you to fill a growler and store it in the ice chest for consumption after the tour.
Does Gear Belly supply food or beverages?
Food is not supplied. Gear Belly will provide free bottled water. Gear Belly can organize a catered event for you (please contact us for more information). Riders are always welcome to bring food and nonalcoholic beverages for consumption during the tour.
How many people ride on the bike? How many pedal?
The pub bike can carry 15 passengers. There are 10 pedaling seats, 2 non-pedaling seats and one non-pedaling bench seat in the back which can fit 3 adults. The tuk tuk limo seats 6 passengers.
What should I wear?
Costumes are encouraged! Please dress appropriate for predicted weather. When riding the pub bike we would recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes since you really are pedaling. When you ride the tuk tuk you can go casual or you can dress up. However you like to roll! The tuk tuk is totally prom worthy.
What if the weather is bad during the scheduled tour?
The tuk tuk limo operates rain or shine most of the year. The seats are heated and it is equipped with a canvas rainfly. The tuk tuk will not operate if it is snowing or there is snow accumulation on the roads. The pub bike operates rain or shine March through October as long as there is no snow or ice on the ground. In the cooler months we recommend you bring a couple of extra layers. Do not assume the tour has been canceled unless you have been contacted by us. Gear Belly reserves the right to cancel a tour due to severe weather and will offer a rain check. We also offer a rain check if the tour has to be canceled due to weather within the first hour of the tour. Weather cancellations are generally not made until the start of the tour.
What if our tour goes late?
The speed of the tour ultimately depends on how fast you can either pedal or how much time you spend at each destination. Your captain will try to keep the tour on schedule and will let you know how to get back on track. If the bike is late you may be charged a late fee. All of the routes have been timed to give you adequate time to enjoy each destination.
Can I decorate the bike?
Absolutely! Please keep all decorations socially appropriate and we cannot cover our sponsor’s signs or logos. Otherwise, have fun!
Who drives the bike?
We always provide a sober, fun and informative captain who steers and brakes.
Can anyone ride the bike?
Yes, children on the pub bike that can't reach the pedals must be sitting in a parent/guardian lap on the bench seat. The tuk tuk limo is equipped with seat belts. All riders in the tuk tuk must occupy a seat and secure their seat belts during the ride.
Who’s in charge of the Gear Belly bike?
The captain is always in charge of the tour. If you act in a dangerous manner, you will be asked to get off the bike and find your own way home. The tour has a time limit and the captain is responsible for making sure the group gets to all of the preferred destinations safely.
What’s the liability waiver for?
Gear Belly tours have been designed to offer a safe and enjoyable experience for the entire group, but with everything fun in life there are risks. The waiver protects Gear Belly from the inherent risks associated with riding a bike and any unforeseen risks. Bike helmets are offered on the pub bike, but are not required.
When and how do I pay?
You pay when you book the tour. You will receive confirmation of your reservation after you book the tour. Payment options on our website include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We do not accept personal checks. You may be prompted to reserve a seat without payment if the tour reservation does not meet the minimum number of people. Payment in full is due within 24 hours of the tour meeting the minimum party in order to confirm your reservation. If payment is still due, your email notification will include a link to our payment portal prior to confirmation of your booking.
What if I want to cancel or reschedule my tour?
You may reschedule your tour up to 7 days in advance. Gear Belly offers a full refund or a rain check for the current year if you cancel 7 days in advance of the tour. Cancellations less than 7 days will receive no rain check or refund.
Does the Gear Belly bike run all year long?
We wish! The pub bike will be offered as long as it is safe to ride, generally between the months of March and October. The tuk tuk can ride into the winter months (the bike is equipped with a vinyl/canvas rainfly and heat seats) as long it isn't actively snowing or there is snow accumulation on the roads. In the colder months you may want to bring a couple of extra layers. We will ride until the snow or ice impairs operations. Although, the tuk tuk tour schedule is consistent throughout the year, the schedule for the pub bike will vary between the spring, summer and fall months. Pay close attention to your pub bike tour start and stop times. The spring and fall tours will end earlier in the evening when the weather is cooler.
What are the hours of operation?
The tours typically operate between 11:30 am and 9:30 pm in the summer and 2:00 pm to 8:30 in the spring and fall. We have a farmers market tour in the summer which starts at 9:00 am. How many people does it take to pedal the pub bike?
We have space for 10 people to pedal, but we need a minimum of 6 people pedaling. Tours with less than 6 people booked will be rescheduled or refunded. Yes, you really are pedaling and it is just like riding a bike. On the Gear Belly pub bike, the more people pedaling the easier the ride!
How fast does the bike go?
The pub bike speed depends on the people pedaling. On a flat road the bike can travel approximately 6 mph. The tuk tuk can drive up to 25 mph.
Can I make my own route for a Gear Belly tour?
Yes, if you book a private tour. If you are considering a custom route, please include the details under "preferred destinations" at the time of booking or contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Should I tip the captain?
